As a coach, one of the biggest barriers to change I hear clients saying is that it’s not easy.

And you know what, they are absolutely right.

Change isn’t easy but that doesn’t mean it isn’t possible.

Creating any kind of life change takes effort.

But if you are willing to commit time and time again, you can make any change you want to.

Next time you hear yourself saying, “it’s hard”, “it’s difficult”, “it’s not easy, stop and remind yourself that your effort counts.

I’ve just come off a client call and a comment was made again that, as a coach, I’ve heard so many times, both myself say it but also clients say it as well. I just thought I’d share this with you because it is something that I think we use as an excuse so often and that we can use as a way for not making the change that we really want to make,  especially where confidence is concerned (but it could be to do with absolutely any area of your life, to be honest).

It’s the fact that [making change] is not easy and you’re right, it’s not. I hear this over and over again and as I say, it is a phrase that I have said myself. [We say] “that’s so hard” or “it’s so difficult” or “it’s just not easy” …yeah you’re right it’s not.

If this stuff was really easy, if it was really easy for people to make changes whether that be to lose weight or to get out of debt or to create the new career or to get fit or create the life of their dreams, whatever it is that they are looking to create, it’s not easy, it takes hard work.

Nature doesn’t do anything that’s easy.

These things might be simple to do but, to put the effort in time and time again, is what it takes and unless you are prepared to put that dedication in, then I am really sorry, but those changes aren’t going to happen or maybe they are but it’s going to take you a lot longer than it possibly could if you were actually putting the effort in.

So please be aware for yourself, if you ever hear yourself say the phrase, “oh yeah, but that’s not easy” or “it’s hard” or “it’s difficult”, or any variation of that, stop and remind yourself, just because it’s not easy doesn’t mean I can’t do it. It’s just going to take a bit more effort.  So remember that and hopefully you will start to make some changes for yourself. Bye.
